Gun Ban

As we all know that there have been many shootings during this year, 2013, not only in TX but throughout the whole U.S. Living in the freedom country does not mean that we can use guns to hurt anyone. If we are at least 18, we are able to buy guns. The more people have guns, the more dangerous this life becomes. I totally agree with the "Gun Ban". I think now it is not specifically just gun control, but also is about people control.
In Austin, TX, according to this post, that Democrat does support the gun ban law which may take place in Texas. I think is a must, not just a need. Guns cannot do anything without people's controls. People say that having guns can protect themselves from being harmed. However, it can kill or hurt others. People can lose their mind easily, and it leads to an action: using gun to shoot someone. Nearly, Houston had a shooting at a house party which killed 2 people and hurt 20 others attending. Moreover, there is no limit on buying guns. Just have a look back on last Black Friday, guns were on sale, so we could not know how many people went out and got themselves a gun. Guns are not totally dangerous, but they will be when under people's uses. Sometimes, they do not have any reason to shoot someone. They just want  to use theirs for once in life. It is so unfair to people that have been dead from any shooting, children, elderly, adults, anyone.
If guns are banned, it could be not a hundred percent that we are going to leave in peace in TX or in the U.S, but it can prevent from having people dead from shootings.

  1. I think my colleague has taken one instance in which a gun was used in a harmful way to support their position on the Gun Ban without looking at more statistics other than what certain news agencies report.
The process of finding raw data without interpretation is a little difficult but I was able to find some. For example in countries with the highest gun ownership per 100 people, here in lays this ranking:
    1. United States
    2. Yemen
    3. Switzerland
    4. Cyprus
    5. Saudi Arabia
    6. Iraq
    7. Finland
    8. Uruguay
    9. Sweden
    10. Norway
Of these countries, the only one which was on the top 20list for murder rate with firearms was the United States.
On another statistic taken, we see data which shows a declining crime rate as gun ownership increases, with a handful of outliers such as Maine, and Vermont which can be due to other factors, but the raw data follows a linear trend none-the-less.
Another advantage in gun ownership is the ability to give an elderly woman a fighting chance against a doped-up young man who is either trying to assault her or play, “knock-out-Jew.”
If we did not have guns available for use, man would invent another tool to neutralize his fellow man. For example, the 3D printable gun, which requires only a 3D printer, can be used lethally.
I am a current CHL holder who owns several guns and always has my concealed weapon equipped. I have been in various altercations with the public, and never once used it in a threatening purpose, or to end an argument.
I am on board for measures in which we can restrict guns to a certain few. I believe a system in which people, who wish to be gun owners, should become licensed to carry; proving themselves in weapon handling and sanity tests which should be performed at fixed intervals -- just like owning a vehicle license more or less. This system would be more thoughtful than reaching as far as to ban firearms. View my blog to follow the links to the respective statistics. http://meditativebus.blogspot.com/

  2. In Nhi Vo's recent post about a gun ban in Texas, her argument is pretty much straightforward in agreeing with the ban taking action, and trying to eliminate guns in not only Texas but the whole nation as well.
First, I would like to pick out some details in Vo's post that could possibly make her argument stronger. For example, though the term "Gun Ban" is obvious of what it spells out, she could have elaborate more on the term such as when did the idea play a major role in the U.S. nation? Who is going to effected by this idea? The law enforcement? The citizens of the U.S.? It's as if your telling a person who has never heard or have no idea what a gun is.
I believe these little and simple questions answered could help understand what the term is and help lengthened your essay. Furthermore, the comment Vo states, "that Democrat" is vague and could be cleared up just a little more. One being there were multiple Democrats mentioned in the article, so a person reading that comment won't exactly know which democrat Vo was talking about talking about.
Finally, instead of stating, "according to this post" Vo could have stated, In an article(embedded link) by Dave Jolly, he states "so on so is for gun control".
In my general opinion , I believe a violent revolution and rebellion would occur almost immediately once the president signs the bill for a gun ban. In the article "What you’ll see in the rebellion", by Bob Owens, he states "Tens of millions of Americans will refuse to comply with an order that is clearly a violation of the explicit intent of the Second Amendment." Moreover, the more guns being stripped away from people, the more activity we could see from the other side of the border. Meaning there could be a higher chance that we could see more guns sneaked in than usual, and possibly a higher rate of crime increased than expected.

  3. In my classmates post about gun control, they support a gun ban in Texas and I couldn't agree more. With gun rights being so prominent these days with everything in the news from open carry to school massacres, I think now is the right time to push for a gun ban. Texans of all people might not be to keen to do this but the evidence is strong. People claim they need to have guns for self defence but shouldn't there be a limit? Keeping a gun locked up in your house is one thing but having multiple in places like your car or even on your person is totally different. Guns are relatively easy to come by and the fact that one can buy a gun without any background check is both wrong and frightening. I think only law enforcement should be able to carry guns because making them illegal would surely cut down on gun related deaths and would probably eliminate gun related accidents. This is a long shot and I don't see it happening but considering all the destructive history of guns, I think a gun ban would benefit all.
